• The Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) confirms the activation of a coordinated relief and recovery effort following severe weather conditions (flooding/landslides) across Sri Lanka. • Highest Priority: Employee safety and wellbeing is the top focus. JAAF is working to identify affected employees, assess needs, and ensure timely assistance. • Operational Status: Most factories have resumed normal operations. Only a few isolated pockets still face access and infrastructure challenges. • Immediate Support: Companies are providing emergency aid, including food, clothing, temporary shelter, transport assistance, and essential supplies to displaced workers, their families, and local communities. • Coordination: JAAF has established focal points to streamline relief efforts, allowing for faster mobilization of resources and district-level impact reporting. • The apparel & textiles industry is actively collaborating with Government authorities to support national relief efforts, highlighting its commitment to immediate recovery and long-term support for its people.
