• Binance Charity has pledged Rs. 61.6 million (US$ 200,000) for urgent humanitarian and early-recovery efforts following the severe flooding caused by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka. • The donation is channeled through the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) to ensure immediate relief reaches affected communities. • Disaster Scale: The cyclone has disrupted over 1 million people nationwide. Nearly 200,000 individuals are currently taking refuge in over 1000 temporary shelters, based on Disaster Management Centre data. • Support Focus: Funds are allocated towards life-saving relief essentials, including food, clean drinking water, hygiene/dignity kits, medical supplies, temporary shelter materials, and cash grants for the most vulnerable communities. • SLRCS stated the generous contribution is critical for strengthening their capacity to respond swiftly and effectively to the unprecedented humanitarian challenge.
