BYD, in partnership with its authorized Sri Lankan agent John Keells CG Auto (JKCG Auto) and Indra Service Park, has officially inaugurated a new state-of-the-art 3S Facility in Kandy. This launch marks a significant expansion of the brand’s "Sales, Service, and Spare Parts" network within the Central Province. • Strategic Expansion: The facility aims to provide localized support and accessible after-sales services for the growing base of BYD customers in the hill country, reducing the need to travel to Colombo for specialized maintenance. • Partnership Details: The collaboration leverages Indra Service Park’s regional expertise and JKCG Auto’s distribution network. The opening was attended by Ketsu Zhang, Deputy General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division. • Market Context: As of early 2026, BYD has emerged as a leader in Sri Lanka's brand-new vehicle segment, capturing approximately 37% of brand-new registrations and over 70% of the electric vehicle (EV) market following the resumption of vehicle imports. • Regional Network: This Kandy facility joins an expanding national footprint that includes operational hubs in Colombo, Kurunegala, and Moratuwa, with further centers planned for Ratnapura and Ampara to support the ICT/BPM and broader professional sectors adopting green mobility.
