š CA Sri Lanka Opens Applications for TAGS Awards 2026
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) has officially opened applications for the TAGS Awards 2026, marking 61 years of corporate reporting excellence in the country. Organised in partnership with Strategic Partner Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), the awards champion Transparency, Accountability, Governance, and Sustainability. ⢠Timeline & Eligibility: Applications are open until 31 August 2026 via tags.casrilanka.com or physical forms. Eligible entries include listed/non-listed corporates, conglomerates, multinationals, SMEs, NGOs, and Empower Board entities with audited financial statements (unmodified opinion). Winners will be awarded in December 2026 at Shangri-La Colombo. ⢠Scope & Awards Structure: Honours will be presented across 36 sectors, alongside 6 special awards and 3 overall excellence recognitions. The theme, "Legacy of Excellence: Creating Value Beyond Reporting," encourages businesses to move beyond simple compliance toward long-term stakeholder value creation. ⢠Key Enhancements: ⢠Empower Board Sector Award for emerging industries, SMEs, and new entities. ⢠SLFRS S1 & S2 Adoption Award recognizing sustainability reporting leadership. ⢠Refined corporate governance awards separating banking & finance from other sectors. ⢠Evaluation & Tech: Features a 3-tier evaluation involving ~300 Chartered Accountants, industry experts, and a local/international judging panel. Evaluation efficiency is boosted by an Azure-based TAGS marking platform and an enhanced AI-powered chatbot for assessors.
