⢠Infrastructure Upgrade: Cabinet approved 39 state healthcare projects out of 41 evaluated by the Department of National Planning. Budget allocations are set for 2027 under the 2027ā2031 Public Investment Program to modernise tertiary institutions, including national, regional, and specialized hospitals. ⢠Primary Healthcare & Arogya Model: Launching 'Arogya' wellness centres, modelled after India's Ayushman Bharat, to reduce tertiary hospital congestion. Plans focus on establishing primary units within a 1ā2 km radius for target populations of 10,000, with long-term goals to reduce coverage to 5,000 patients per centre. ⢠Digital Health Integration: Integrating ICT/BPM solutions by assigning NIC-linked health numbers for electronic health records (e-health) to streamline patient routing across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. ⢠Funding & Staffing: Rs. 1,500 Mn was allocated in Budget 2026 for primary healthcare initiatives, with expectations of higher allocations in 2027. Training is complete for 260 Public Health Nursing Officers (PHNOs), 300 are in training, and 500 more will be recruited.
