• Project Overview: The Cabinet approved a revised contract worth Rs. 25.58 Bn with M/s Maga Engineering Ltd. to complete remaining construction on Sethsiripaya Stage III. The project was initiated by the Urban Development Authority (UDA) to expand state administrative office space. • Cost Revision & Breakdown: - Original Estimated Capital Expenditure: Rs. 16.7 Bn (commenced in 2021). - Revised Total Project Cost: Rs. 38.48 Bn (includes past costs, remaining work, taxes, and other expenses). - Remaining Works Contract: Agreed at Rs. 22.76 Bn (excluding completed work value, payables, contingencies, and taxes). • Key Context & Timeline: Construction halted after completing three floors due to economic instability, material shortages, import restrictions, and rising construction sector costs. The project is now being expedited to meet office space demands. • Financing & Allocation: Funding will be shared by allocated institutions according to space usage, including the Energy Ministry, Inland Revenue Department (IRD), State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC), and the UDA.
