• Subsidy Allocation: The Cabinet of Ministers approved a fertiliser financial subsidy of Rs. 30,000 per hectare for paddy and other field crops cultivated in paddy fields during the 2026/27 Maha season. • Support Limits & Coverage: Financial support is capped at a maximum of two hectares per farmer to target smallholder agriculture and maintain sustainable production support. • Financial Commitment: The total cost for implementing the subsidy program for the 2026/27 Maha season is estimated at Rs. 16 billion. • Implementation: Submitted by Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation Minister K. D. Lal Kantha, the continuous program aligns with seasonal agricultural recommendations to ensure input support for Sri Lanka's domestic paddy farming sector.
