CCWE Workshop Calls for Collective Action to Drive Women’s Economic Empowerment 📈

Source

The Ceylon Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs (CCWE) and the University of Kelaniya hosted the national workshop "Advocating for Change: Women's Economic Empowerment through Collective Action" under the Agence Française de Développement (AFD)-supported FAME Project. • Strategic Focus: Moving beyond isolated interventions to build an interconnected ecosystem providing women access to finance, technology, markets, and policy institutions. • Economic Shift: Transitioning women-owned micro and livelihood-based enterprises into growth-oriented, sustainable businesses to boost industrial development, employment, and income generation. • Grassroots Integration: Emphasizing a bottom-up approach where regional and rural women entrepreneurs actively shape national policies rather than serving solely as program beneficiaries. • Policy & Partnerships: Calling for multi-stakeholder collaboration among government ministries, international partners, academia, and the private sector to achieve measurable progress in market access, productivity, and scaling capabilities.
