🏛️ CII Conducts Local Government Governance Training for ITAK Representatives in North

• Overview: The Coalition for Inclusive Impact (CII), upon request by the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK), conducted a capacity-building program for local government representatives across Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mannar, and Mullaitivu. • Participants: Mayors, Chairpersons, Vice-Chairpersons, and Councillors from Northern local authorities, alongside senior ITAK leadership including C.V.K. Sivagnanam, M.A. Sumanthiran, and Shanakiyan Rasamanickam. • Core Modules & Capacity Enhancement: • Financial sustainability and revenue generation strategies. • Preparation and implementation of municipal by-laws. • Administrative procedures, statutory powers, and council responsibilities. • Planning & project implementation frameworks. • Aligning party ideology with transparent, accountable, and people-centered administration. • Resource Experts: Legal and operational guidance delivered by University of Jaffna Department of Law Lecturer Kosalai Mathan and local government federations representative Pradeep. • Strategic Impact: Aimed at improving institutional efficiency, administrative transparency, and enabling Northern local councils to fully utilize devolved local powers.
