Crown & Commonwealth: Sri Lankan Artist Presents Sun-Printed Artwork to King Charles III 🎨

• Sri Lankan textile designer Ruwanthi Gajadeera presented an original artwork titled Eka Mawakage Daruwo (Children of One Mother) to His Majesty King Charles III in London. • The presentation took place at the Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship during its 125th anniversary, attended by Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to the UK, H.E. Nimal Senadheera. • The artwork features hand-drawn national flowers of all 56 Commonwealth nations printed via cyanotype—a chemical process exposed solely by sunlight without toxic waste, aligning with sustainable design practices. • Gajadeera, an MA graduate from the Royal College of Art, is developing her studio via InnovationRCA and facilitates art-science research with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. • The event highlights international exposure for Sri Lanka's creative and sustainable fashion & textile talents on a global platform.
