š Govt Allocates Rs. 10 Bn Relief Loans to Revive Cyclone Ditwah-Hit MSMEs
The Government has allocated Rs. 10 Bn under disaster-relief loan schemes to restart MSMEs and other businesses impacted by Cyclone Ditwah, supporting regional economic recovery. ⢠Relief Schemes: Cabinet approved the implementation of the Disaster Relief (RE-MSME) Loan Scheme and the Extended Disaster Relief (EDR) Loan Scheme, executed jointly across 15 financial institutions. ⢠Disbursement Progress: A total of Rs. 8.06 Bn has already been disbursed to 3,968 disaster-affected enterprises to provide immediate operational financing. ⢠Timeline & Strategy: Presented by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the Rs. 10 Bn allocation covers 2025 and 2026 to accelerate post-disaster business recovery and drive a broader economic rebound.
