• Key Highlights: Sri Lanka’s Hambantota International Port (HIP) received the maiden call of NYK's Azalea Leader in August. Built in 2026, the 200-metre Liberian-flagged vessel is a new-generation LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier (PCTC). • Cargo Capacity: Arriving from Singapore, the vessel carried 4,810 vehicles for transhipment and 47 units for local discharge. The carrier has a maximum capacity of 7,000 units. • Logistics & Sustainability: The deployment highlights HIP’s growing importance in regional RoRo and automotive logistics connecting to the Middle East.
