Healthguard Distribution Invests Rs. 300M to Bolster Pharma Supply Chain 📈
Healthguard Distribution (Sunshine Group) has completed a major Rs. 300 million upgrade of its Western Regional Distribution Centre in Colombo to enhance the safety and availability of medicines across Sri Lanka. • Investment & Infrastructure: The Rs. 300 million project revamped an 18,000 sq. ft. warehouse with a total capacity of 2,295 CBM. It serves as a central "port to pharmacy" hub, eliminating the need for third-party providers. • Cold Chain & Compliance: The facility doubled its specialized cold storage capacity from 15 CBM to 30 CBM, maintaining strict temperatures (2°C to 8°C) for vaccines and insulin. Operations are fully aligned with NMRA and ISO 9001:2015 standards. • Technology & Automation: The hub introduced Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for invoicing, alongside ERP systems and automated conveyors to streamline the ICT/Logistics interface for real-time inventory visibility. • Logistics & Reach: • Network: 4,500 customer points across 467 towns. • Fleet: 55 GPS-tracked vehicles with real-time temperature monitoring. • Efficiency: Achieves a 98% order fulfillment rate and 97% next-day delivery. • Sustainability: Established high-temperature incineration protocols (up to 1,000°C) for pharmaceutical waste to prevent environmental contamination, ensuring complete molecular destruction of expired goods.
