• Global Scientific Impact: Prof. Asgerally “Asgi” T. Fazleabas made groundbreaking contributions to early pregnancy understanding and endometriosis care. He authored nearly 250 scientific papers, served on editorial boards of top journals, and held 4 major research grants late into his illness, advancing global healthcare and fertility medicine. • Distinguished Academic Career: Schooled at St. Thomas’ College and Aquinas College, he completed his PhD at the University of Illinois. He rose to University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University and received top honors, including election as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. • Development of Sri Lankan Expertise: Deeply committed to strengthening local medical research and higher education, he served as Patron of the Sri Lanka Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Association, facilitated workshops, and trained young Sri Lankan researchers in his U.S. laboratory. • Key Milestone: Played a pivotal role in bringing the 13th Asian Congress on Endometriosis to Colombo in November 2025 alongside the World Endometriosis Society, significantly boosting the country's international standing in clinical research.
