✈️️ IndiGo Resumes Flight Services Across Three India-Sri Lanka Routes

Source

• Flight Operations Restart: Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo resumed services on three key routes connecting India and Sri Lanka starting 1 October: daily New Delhi–Colombo, daily Bengaluru–Colombo, and thrice-weekly Tiruchirappalli (Trichy)–Jaffna. • Northern Connectivity: The Trichy–Jaffna route returns after a three-month suspension, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The inaugural flight carried 88 passengers. • Economic & Regional Impact: The direct Jaffna connection provides the Northern Province with a faster route to Tamil Nadu, bolstering cultural, family, and commercial ties. The daily Colombo services aim to serve tourism, business travellers, and diplomatic traffic, strengthening broader cross-border trade between India and Sri Lanka.
