š Lanka IOC Highlights Sri Lanka's Potential as Regional Energy Hub
⢠Energy Hub Potential: Lanka IOC Chairman Anuj Jain stated Sri Lanka possesses a prime opportunity to develop into a major regional petroleum and storage hub due to its strategic shipping location, calling for urgent execution of planned investments. ⢠Infrastructure Needs: Urged major capital investments across the petroleum value chain, including expansion of refining capacity, pipeline networks, port facilities, and fuel storage assets like the Trincomalee Lower Tank Farm. ⢠Business Diversification: Emphasized shifting from traditional fuel retail to multi-energy centres (including EV charging) while expanding into lubricants, bitumen, marine fuels, and petrochemicals to ensure long-term resilience. ⢠Financial Performance: Lanka IOC recorded FY26 revenue of Rs. 280.65 Bn, up from Rs. 276.29 Bn in FY25 (compared to Rs. 90 Bn in FY21). ⢠Policy & Market: Stressed the necessity of cost-reflective, market-linked pricing for import-dependent economies and welcomed market competition provided strict safety standards are maintained.
