Police have arrested a 46-year-old former Army soldier in connection with the fatal shooting of a lawyer and his wife in Akuregoda. This marks a significant development in the investigation into the February 13th attack. • Suspect Profile: The individual, a resident of Beruwala, legally discharged from the Army in 2009. He was apprehended in the Ambalangoda area by the Homagama Divisional Crime Investigation Unit. • Evidence Recovered: A mobile phone allegedly used for planning or executing the crime was seized during the arrest. • Case Context: The victims were killed inside their vehicle by two gunmen in a separate car.
