• Money Market Liquidity: Outstanding system surplus liquidity expanded to Rs. 246.81 Bn (up from Rs. 183.34 Bn), marking its highest level since May. Weighted average Call Money and Repo rates eased to 8.93% and 8.97% (from 9.01% and 9.03%). • Government Securities & Foreign Holdings: Foreign investment in rupee Treasuries recorded a net inflow of Rs. 4.04 Bn for the week ended Aug 6 (9th consecutive week of net buying). Total foreign holdings crossed the Rs. 190 Bn mark for the first time in over three years, reaching Rs. 192.86 Bn. • T-Bill & Bond Market Yields: Secondary bond market yields shifted lower across tenors. At the weekly auction, weighted average T-Bill yields dropped for the 4th straight week: 91-day down 9 bps to 9.77%, 182-day down 22 bps to 9.99%, and 364-day down 1 bps to 10.19%. Total accepted amount reached Rs. 154 Bn, with initial phase bids oversubscribed by 2.41 times. • Forex Market: The Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) appreciated against the US Dollar, closing at Rs. 335.37/335.42 (vs. Rs. 335.65/335.80 the prior week). Average daily USD traded volume stood at US$ 113.82 Mn.
