• Tisara de Silva was elected President-Elect of the Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) for the 2025/2026 term with a clear majority at the AGM on October 31. • The OPA is the apex body of 52 professional associations, representing 34 professions across the country. • De Silva is a registered Pharmacist, marking the first time a professional from the Pharmaceutical Society of Sri Lanka (PSSL) has been elected to this position. • He holds over 31 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including 27 years as a Senior Manager at GlaxoSmithKline. • His service to the OPA includes two years as General Secretary and a term as Vice President (2022/2023). • Internationally, he currently serves as Secretary of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the SEARPharm Forum.
