The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) of The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) held a ceremony today to unveil the photograph of former Dean, Senior Professor Nalin Abeysekera, celebrating a tenure defined by transformative leadership and academic excellence. • Prof. Abeysekera's deanship drove significant expansion, resulting in an impressive 70% increase in student enrollment. • Key academic additions included the approval of three new degree programs and the introduction of the MSc in Supply Chain and Procurement and the Advanced Certificate in Human Resource Management (ACHRM), boosting national capacity. • A landmark initiative was the creation of the Entrepreneurship Development and Consultancy Unit (EDCU) and a strategic partnership with NEDA, strengthening ties for SME development and entrepreneurship education. • International collaboration expanded with the Progression Link Agreement with the University of Essex, offering access to 17 MSc programs for OUSL management students. • Prof. Abeysekera also secured internal approvals for a new FMS building project, setting the stage for future growth.
