Pan Asia Bank Drives Sustainable Agriculture via Solar Irrigation Financing in NCP 📈

Pan Asia Bank has expanded its green banking drive by providing concessionary financing for solar-powered irrigation to smallholder farmers in Sri Lanka's North Central Province under its _Sustainable Agricultural Lending Initiative – 2026_. • Initiative Overview: Launched in partnership with Our Movement of Lanka (OML), the initiative provides affordable financing terms for solar water pumps to lower fuel reliance, cut operating costs, and enhance agricultural productivity. • Reach & Outreach: Promoted at a community awareness event in Galenbindunuwewa, Anuradhapura, attending ~50 farmers and leaders. OML represents 5,000+ active member farmers cultivating crops such as chilli, melon, brinjal, capsicum, tomato, and cantaloupe. • Economic Impact: Supports agriculture and financial inclusion by absorbing credit risk on concessionary terms, building climate resilience, and improving sustainable rural livelihoods.
