• Monthly Figures: Inflows rose 11.51% YoY to US$ 777.6 Mn, surpassing July 2025's high of US$ 697.3 Mn. Monthly remittances also grew 12% compared to June 2026 (US$ 695.02 Mn). • Cumulative Growth: Remittances for the first seven months of 2026 reached over US$ 5.38 Bn, up 21.4% YoY—marking the strongest January–July performance in Sri Lanka's history. • Macroeconomic Impact: Serving as Sri Lanka's largest source of foreign exchange, workers' remittances continue to strengthen external reserves and maintain broader macroeconomic stability amid external pressures on exports and tourism. • Historical Recovery: Following a historic low of US$ 3.78 Bn in 2022, inflows rebounded to US$ 5.96 Bn (+57%) in 2023, US$ 6.57 Bn (+10.1%) in 2024, and reached an all-time high of US$ 8.07 Bn (+23%) in 2025.
