• Capital Infusion: Sanasa Life Insurance Company PLC successfully completed a private placement of 5 million Tier II subordinated debentures, raising Rs. 500 million to strengthen its capital base. • Regulatory Clearance: Proceeds are currently held in an escrow account pending the lifting of an insurance licence suspension by the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL). • Solvency Improvement: The capital raise significantly improves the company's Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) well above the 120% regulatory minimum. Based on 31 May 2026 data, CAR rises to 141% (with funds in escrow) or 160% (if invested in Government securities). • Current Status: The insurance sector firm has formally requested the IRCSL to lift its licence suspension based on meeting these solvency benchmarks.
