• Capital Market Modernisation: The SEC, CSE, and CA Sri Lanka signed an MoU to implement eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) for listed companies, upgrading Sri Lanka’s corporate reporting infrastructure. • Key Benefits: The standardized, machine-readable format will streamline financial and non-financial disclosures, improve data accuracy, reduce manual processing costs, and enable faster comparative analysis for investors and regulators. • Global Alignment & Investment: Moving to internationally recognized XBRL standards will boost transparency, strengthen market integrity, and make local listed firms more attractive to international investors. • Implementation Timeline: CSE has procured and customized the XBRL platform, with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) near completion. Full rollout to all CSE-listed entities is expected during the latter part of 2026.
