📈 SLICGL Reaffirms Sustainability Commitment with ISO Greenhouse Gas Verification

Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Ltd (SLICGL), the country's leading State-owned general and motor insurer, has received an official Greenhouse Gas Verification Opinion from the Sri Lanka Climate Fund Ltd (Environment Ministry). • Scope & Compliance: The independent assessment confirmed compliance with ISO 14064-1:2018 and ISO 14064-3:2019 standards across its head office and islandwide branch network for the period 1 January to 31 December 2025. • Emissions Breakdown: Total verified greenhouse gas emissions stood at 3,454.59 tons of CO₂ equivalent. - Direct Emissions (Scope 1): 1,626.10 tons - Indirect Emissions (Scope 2 & 3): 1,828.48 tons (including 1,342.82 tons from electricity consumption and 485.66 tons from other indirect sources) • Validity & Accreditation: Accredited by the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board and recognized under the International Accreditation Forum, the verification opinion remains valid until 31 March 2027.
