• Sri Lanka Telecom PLC (SLT) has appointed Riyaaz Rasheed as its new Chief Executive Officer. • Rasheed brings a professional career spanning over 34 years, with 29 years dedicated to the telecommunications sector. • His extensive background includes leadership roles with subsidiaries of major multinational corporations, including Millicom, Etisalat, and CK Hutchison Group. • Key prior appointments in the sector include Acting CEO/CFO of Robi Axiata PLC (Bangladesh), and Deputy CEO roles at both Hutchison Telecommunications and Etisalat in Sri Lanka. • He also served as CFO for Celltel Lanka Ltd. and Tigo Lanka Ltd., and worked at Hayleys Group's Dipped Products PLC. • Rasheed is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute Management Accountants of UK (FCMA UK) and holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM).
