• Overall Performance: The National Sales Average (NSA) for tea eased to Rs. 1,174.46 (US$ 3.53) per kg in August 2026, down MoM by Rs. 1.64 (+US$ 0.03) and YoY by Rs. 7.81 (-US$ 0.39). Cumulative 8-month NSA reached Rs. 1,165.66 (US$ 3.62), up Rs. 9.29 YoY in rupee terms but down US$ 0.25. • Sector Breakdown: • High Grown: August average fell MoM by Rs. 4.89 (-YoY Rs. 49.14) to Rs. 1,057.06 (US$ 3.18). YTD average gained Rs. 35.14 YoY to Rs. 1,109.75 (-US$ 0.15 to US$ 3.45). • Medium Grown: Rose marginally MoM by Rs. 0.88 to Rs. 954.82 (US$ 2.87), but dropped YoY by Rs. 74.28 (-US$ 0.54). Remains the only segment with a YTD rupee decline, down Rs. 41.80 YoY to Rs. 980.26 (-US$ 0.38 to US$ 3.04). • Low Grown: Eased MoM by Rs. 16.23 to Rs. 1,276.83 (US$ 3.84), yet gained Rs. 25.74 YoY (-US$ 0.31). YTD average increased Rs. 13.26 YoY to Rs. 1,241.30 (-US$ 0.26 to US$ 3.86). • Market Trends: In rupee terms, YTD averages for National, High Grown, and Low Grown categories maintained positive variances against 2025, whereas Medium Grown lagged. All elevation categories and the overall NSA posted YoY declines in US dollar terms due to exchange rate movements.
