Sri Lanka Explores New Ecotourism Frontier via International Wellness Conference 🌿

• Event Details: The Wellness in Wetlands International Conference (WIWC 2026) will take place in Kotte from 9–12 October, featuring 34 international experts across 15 countries, including delegates from Mexico and Kenya. • Economic Focus: The initiative aims to diversify Sri Lanka's tourism product into nature-based and wellness tourism to attract high-value global visitors, supporting biodiversity conservation and local community development. • Key Objectives: Connect wetland ecosystem preservation with mental/planetary health, integrate youth into the green economy via life skills, and highlight Kotte’s historical heritage and ecotourism potential around the capital. • Partnerships: Organised by Emotional Intelligence and Life Skills Training Team Ltd in collaboration with SriLankan Airlines, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), Professional Wetlands Guides Association, and Kotte Green Tourism Network, with official backing from the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Trade.
