Sri Lanka’s combined merchandise and services exports reached US$ 9,012.24 Mn during H1 2026 (Jan–Jun), recording an 8% YoY growth compared to H1 2025. Total exports in June 2026 alone hit US$ 1,658.62 Mn (+12.53% YoY), driven by strong momentum across key sectors. • Overall Figures (H1 2026) • Total Exports: US$ 9,012.24 Mn (+8.00% YoY) • Merchandise Exports: US$ 7,073.31 Mn (+8.95% YoY) • Services Exports: US$ 1,938.94 Mn (+4.49% YoY) • Sector Performance (H1 2026) • Electrical & Electronic Components: Surged by 123.48% YoY to US$ 450.20 Mn, driven by wires, cables, and pumps. • Food & Beverages: Grew 24.45% YoY to US$ 347.13 Mn, led by processed food (+44.07%). • ICT/BPM: Grew 17.63% YoY to US$ 885.42 Mn, driving high-skilled employment and knowledge-economy expansion. • Coconut-based Products: Rose 14.59% YoY to US$ 614.93 Mn, with strong growth in activated carbon (+44.59%). • Rubber & Rubber-based Products: Rose 5.24% YoY to US$ 492.32 Mn. • Apparel & Textiles: Declined 6.07% YoY to US$ 2,442.09 Mn due to weak demand in the US and EU. • Tea: Dropped 5.69% YoY to US$ 700.80 Mn, impacted by lower exports to the Middle East. • Top Export Destinations (H1 2026) • US: US$ 1,436.85 Mn (+0.13% YoY) — remains largest market. • India: US$ 688.47 Mn (+36.16% YoY) — second-largest market. • UK: US$ 434.44 Mn (-10.23% YoY). • Turkey: Exceptional growth of 98.36% YoY to US$ 123.20 Mn, boosted by tea exports (+139.16%). _Note: Service exports, Gems & Jewellery, and Petroleum Products for June 2026 are based on provisional and estimated EDB data._
