📈 Sri Lanka Food Processors Association Holds 29th AGM, Sets Growth Priorities

The Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA) convened its 29th Annual General Meeting on September 23, 2026, to review food & beverage processing sector milestones and set strategic goals. Founded in 1997, SLFPA represents over 185 member companies spanning SMEs to multinationals. • Key Industry Milestones (2025/2026 Term): • Presented a comprehensive development strategy to H.E. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to drive sector competitiveness and export performance. • Established a nationwide Food Handler Training program for ~1,000 workers with the Ministry of Health and FAO. • Held the flagship ProFood ProPack & AgBiz 2026 exhibition, attracting nearly 26,000 visitors and 427 stalls. • Advanced the "SLFPA Tower" headquarters project and launched a career facilitation platform to boost employment. • FAO Strategic Directives: • FAO called for integrated food systems transformation to tackle food loss across supply chains. • Highlighted investments in cold chain logistics, sustainable packaging, data collection, and full product traceability to meet international export standards and build national food security. • Leadership & Committee: • Aruna Senanayake (C.W. Mackie PLC) re-appointed as Honorary President alongside the newly elected Executive Committee for 2027/2028.
