Sri Lanka’s Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunneththi, concluded an official visit to India (July 14–18, 2026) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in investment, technology, and manufacturing. • Apparel & Textiles: Met India’s Union Minister of Textiles at Bharat Tex 2026 to enhance investment, trade, and value chain integration in the apparel & textiles sector. • Industrial Infrastructure: Visited the RIICO Neemrana Japanese Zone in Rajasthan and engaged FICCI business leaders to study models for dedicated industrial parks and attracting FDI into global value chains. • Agribusiness & Food Processing: Inspected protected cultivation and cold chain infrastructure at Haryana’s Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence and HSIIDC Mega Food Park to support agribusiness modernization and value addition. • Regional Ties & Tourism: Met the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh to discuss direct Colombo–Bhopal air links for tourism and trade, alongside an invitation to the Global Investors Summit 2027 in Bhopal.
