• Currency Markets: The Sri Lankan rupee remained flat at 330.55/65 against the US dollar in the spot market. Central Bank data indicates the rupee has depreciated by 6.3% year-to-date as of end-September. Commercial bank TT buying/selling rates stood at 326.10/335.10 for the US dollar, 363.62/377.40 for the euro, and 430.51/444.62 for the British pound. • Government Securities: Secondary market bond yields were broadly steady across key maturities: - Oct 15, 2028: 10.50/58% (up from 10.52/55%) - Oct 15, 2029: 10.80/90% (flat) - Aug 01, 2030: 11.15/20% (flat) - Oct 15, 2030: 11.18/23% (down from 11.20/25%) - Feb 01, 2031: 11.22/28% (down from 11.25/30%) - Dec 15, 2032: 11.67/75% (flat) - Jan 15, 2033: 11.75/80% (up from 11.70/80%) - Oct 15, 2034: 11.95/12.05% (down from 11.99/12.05%) - An upcoming Treasury bill auction on Oct 07 aims to issue Rs 80.00 Bn in bills. • Equity Market: The Colombo Stock Exchange closed slightly higher. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) gained 0.04% (+8.34 points) to reach 20,820, while the S&P SL20 index rose 0.14% (+8.01 points) to close at 5,891.
