🏛️ Sri Lanka Parliament to Debate Anti-Corruption Bill & Foreign Exchange Rules

Parliament will convene for a four-day sitting from 6 to 9 October to take up several key legislative and economic measures: • Economic & Debt Focus: Parliament will debate three new foreign exchange rules issued by the Government along with a resolution on public debt management on 6 October from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. • Anti-Corruption Debate: The Second Reading of the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill is scheduled for debate on 8 October (11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). • Private Members’ Motions: Seven motions will be taken up on 9 October, including proposals for a relief program for microfinance loan victims and a Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the 1983 Black July ethnic violence.
