• Overall Reserve Buffers: Sri Lanka’s gross official reserve assets rose 2.1% MoM (+USD 133 Mn) to reach USD 6.59 Bn at the end of July 2026, recovering from USD 6.46 Bn recorded in June. • Foreign Currency Reserves: The growth was primarily driven by the foreign currency reserves component, which expanded by 1.5% MoM (+USD 96 Mn) to USD 6.36 Bn, up from USD 6.26 Bn in the prior month. • Trend & Trajectory: Official reserves hit a peak of USD 7.28 Bn in February 2026 (the highest level since August 2020) before falling below USD 7.0 Bn in April. Following a minor 1.6% uptick in May and a dip in June, July marked a positive recovery phase for national buffers.
