Sri Lanka to Host Flagship UN Global Compact APAC 2026 Summit 📈
Sri Lanka will host Forward Faster Now | APAC 2026, the United Nations Global Compact’s flagship regional event, scheduled for August 11–12, 2026, in Colombo. The event coincides with the 15th anniversary of the UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka. • Overall Event Scope: The two-day summit will convene more than 200 business leaders, sustainability practitioners, policymakers, and UN representatives from across 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. • Strategic Focus Areas: Sessions will target key transitions for regional businesses, focusing on climate action, sustainable finance, water resilience, governance, gender equality, human rights, and digital innovation. The framework aims to implement the UN Global Compact’s 2026–2030 Strategy to accelerate corporate transformation. • Key Highlights: Sanda Ojiambo, Assistant Secretary-General and CEO of the UN Global Compact, will make her first official visit to Sri Lanka to engage with regional private sector leaders.
