š Sri Lankan Rupee Appreciates Slightly; Bond Yields Drop Drastically
⢠Currency Market: The Sri Lankan rupee strengthened to 329.05/20 against the US dollar in the spot market on Wednesday, up from 329.30/60 on Tuesday. TT rates stood at 325.00 buying / 334.00 selling for USD, 369.19 / 382.97 for EUR, and 431.97 / 446.08 for GBP. ⢠Bond Market: Government bond yields saw sharp declines across various maturities: - 01.08.2030 bond: Dropped to 10.90/95% (from 11.05/15%) - 01.02.2031 bond: Dropped to 10.95/11.05% (from 11.15/22%) - 01.11.2033 bond: Dropped to 11.55/65% (from 11.70/75%) - 15.10.2034 bond: Dropped to 11.75/80% (from 11.85/95%) ⢠Treasury Action: An auction of Rs. 60 billion in Treasury bills is currently ongoing.
