• Uber Sri Lanka has announced a major partnership with the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) to provide emergency relief and recovery support for communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah. • Total Commitment: The company is contributing approximately Rs. 65 million (Rs. 65 Mn) combining funds, mobility support, and grocery access. • Support Breakdown: • Rs. 30 Mn allocated for SLRCS to procure and distribute dry-ration kits, life-saving medicines, and essential care packages across affected regions. • Rs. 17.5 Mn in free Uber rides to facilitate safe transport for Red Cross teams during rescue and relief operations. • Rs. 17.5 Mn via Uber Eats to enable SLRCS to source and deliver groceries and essentials from local merchants to impacted households. • Community Mobilisation: Uber is also collaborating with the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) on a public Donation Drive. The Uber app will facilitate donation pick-ups for dry rations and essential goods, delivering them to the CMC collection point at Colombo Town Hall. • Company leaders emphasised sustained, long-term support for the community during this critical time.
