UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka convened the SDG Investment Forum under the Forward Faster Now | APAC 2026 initiative, focusing on accelerating transition and sustainable finance across Asia-Pacific emerging markets. ⢠Key Leadership & Objectives ⢠Opened by Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and UN Global Compact Assistant Secretary-General Sanda Ojiambo. ⢠Aimed at bridging the intermediation gap, unlocking private capital, and fostering blended finance, regional cooperation, and investor confidence. ⢠Highlighted local transactions, including a local-currency renewable energy financing deal between IFC and WindForce PLC. ⢠Corporate Support & Sector Involvement ⢠Supported by major domestic financial and corporate players: Sampath Bank, Hatton National Bank (HNB), Hayleys PLC, Amana Bank, and Dialog Axiata PLC (ICT/telecom). ⢠Collaborators included UNEP FI, PRI, and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI). ⢠Actionable Outcomes ⢠Launched a 1-Year Sustainable Finance Implementation Workplan to build technical capacity, deploy internal carbon pricing, and improve disclosure frameworks. ⢠Gathered individual corporate commitments to drive long-term resilience and inclusive regional economic growth.
