Vidullanka Boosts Grid with 6MW Madampe Solar Plant ☀️
• Renewable Energy Expansion: Vidullanka PLC officially commissioned the 6MW Madampe solar plant on February 21, marking its largest fully-owned solar facility to date. • Capacity & Output: The plant utilizes 12,320 solar modules to export approximately 9.9 GWh of clean energy annually to the national grid. This is the fourth solar project commissioned by the company in the 2025/26 financial year. • Portfolio Growth: The solar segment now reaches a total capacity of 36 MW across 12 projects (7 ground-mounted and 5 rooftop). An additional 10MW solar project is currently under construction. • Future Pipeline: Vidullanka is diversifying into wind power (Alankuda and Mannar) and recently secured a 10MW Battery Energy Storage Solution (BESS) tender from the CEB. • Strategic Impact: With nearly 80MW in the pipeline, the company’s cumulative capacity is projected to hit 150MW. This aligns with Sri Lanka’s national targets for a sustainable energy mix and reduced reliance on fossil fuels.
