The move strengthens the private sector's role in advancing sustainable tourism and cleaner transportation infrastructure. • Deployment Status: • Total planned: 9 charging stations. • Already operational: 4 stations (Jetwing Sea, Beach, Lagoon, Saman Villas, Kaduruketha, Surf, Safari, Hotel J Unawatuna, and Mask & Tide). • Market Impact: • Volt Charge currently serves over 10,000 registered users. • The network is diversifying into hospitality and retail sectors, with existing partnerships including Hilton, Cinnamon, Keells, and Anantaya. • Expansion also covers corporate/ICT environments such as Dilmah Tea and Aitken Spence to support everyday commuting. • Strategic Context: The initiative addresses "range anxiety" for both local and international travelers, aligning the hospitality sector with global sustainability trends and future-ready guest services.
