The World Bank Group (WBG) achieved a record Private Capital Mobilization (PCM) of US$ 112 Bn in FY26—more than tripling from US$ 35 Bn in FY22—pushing total developing economy financing past US$ 200 Bn. • Key Mobilization Growth (FY22 vs FY26): • Lower-Middle-Income Countries: US$ 37 Bn (up from US$ 14 Bn, ~3x increase) • Upper-Middle-Income Countries: US$ 50 Bn (up from US$ 12 Bn, >4x increase) • Low-Income Countries: Maintained at US$ 3 Bn • Africa Region: US$ 22 Bn (up nearly 150% from US$ 9 Bn) • Guarantees & Institutional Reforms: • Issued over US$ 25 Bn in guarantees, beating its 2030 target four years early via the WBG Guarantee Platform. • Consolidated country-level operations into single points of contact with integrated strategies. • Focus on Employment & Target Sectors: • Aims to address the deficit where 1.2 Bn youth will reach working age over 10-15 years, with only 420 Mn jobs projected. • 55% of FY26 total financing targeted 5 job-rich sectors: infrastructure & energy, agribusiness, healthcare, tourism, and value-added manufacturing. • Directly aligns with regional development frameworks, including Sri Lanka's focus on scaling agribusiness, tourism, and renewable infrastructure & energy to drive employment.
